HI! I'M INGRID.

I'm a portrait photographer based in Founex, Switzerland. Years after moving to Switzerland to work in public health, I followed my creative heart and trained as a photographer in a studio in Geneva. I set up as a freelance portrait photographer in 2013, and work part-time so that I have energy to spare for our three kids and dog Juno.

My soul feels nourished by the beautiful countryside we live in, but as a photographer I've always been drawn to people! I find faces endlessly fascinating, and to me a portrait is like a haiku - distilling the essence of that person, place and feeling into a special kind of magic that lasts more than a lifetime.

Over the last few years I've been building a photo tree of my own family and ancestry. I love looking at these old portraits (often just a single photo survives for each person), and I wonder what our descendants will make of our thousands of iPhone snapshots... My guess is, not much! I think there is huge value to a planned photo session, where care is taken to try out different angles, lighting and clothing, and time is spent getting a person comfortable in front of the camera so that their personality can shine through. I believe everyone should have this kind of "proper portrait" taken at some point in their lives, and I hope some of the pictures we will take together end up as treasured family heirlooms for generations to come!
